Lush Kitchen: Playdoze Bubble Bar

As I have mentioned many of times before, in many other blog posts about the idea of Lush bringing out a product which is a novelty item. However, I do love it when they bring together the novelty idea and make it a great scented product. When the Playdoze Bubble Bar came out in the Lush Kitchen recently, I was so intrigued to discover the joys of this particular bubble bar!

Playdoze Bubble Bar

When you are agreed by a fluorescent yellow bubble bar, your mind instantly thinks of something that would be citrus/lemon scent bubble bar - however this bubble bar is the complete opposite and processes the smell of Lavender - making this a more comforting, bed time bubble bar - rather than something to wake you up and get you ready for the day. What is also interesting, is the design of this bubble bar. I love that fact it reminds you of playing with a lump of play-doh when you were younger.

I personally love the scent of Lavender  - and I will seek out a bath bomb or bubble bar that has it in in order to gain a good nights sleep or if I have a bad nights sleep - I also find it is really good to use when feeling anxious, or your mood is all over the place. It is a really good mood balancing fragrance. Not only the scent of the product - but that fact is is bright yellow, would make anyone's mood feel that little bit better.

Originally, I thought this bubble bar, due the shape, would be more of the consistency of the FUN bars that Lush offers - however it is a solid bubble bar - with you being able to easily get 2/3 bath times out of it - even more if you use it sparingly. When you do crumble it under the running water - it creates mounts of soft, comforting and sweet lavender scented bubbles - no matter how much of the bar you use.

This bubble bar includes, Ylang Ylang Oil, Cardamom Oil, Lavender Oil and Fennel Oil. Unlike other Lavender based products - which can be heavily laced with Lavender - making them too overpowering to use, this however has the right amount of Lavender - that even sniffing the bar before breaking it up under the water, will make you feel instantly calm before dipping one toe in the water.

Nonetheless, the fluorescent yellow colour does not stick around for long - but it does leave your water a nice yellow tint, which is just right to still keep your mood perked up!

I am now saving my other one, for when I need a good mood balancing bubble bath!

For this bubble bar: £3.95.

Updated Lush Collection

About a year ago, I uploaded a blog post entitled How I Store My Lush. Since posting that, I have changed it around a bit - be still using the same Ikea Unit - SPRUTT Trolley. As I have updated it, I thought I would go through my new system for organising my collection and how I keep in all in one place!

Updated Lush Collection & Storage

On the Top

On the top of the unit, I have a little bath tub storage - which I got in Wilko's of 90p - I used as my "Baths of the Week" Box! This is where I circulate products in order to use them up. At the moment, I am using up products which are older than a year. Once they are gone, I put products in there which I want to use in order to review them.

I also keep in the same box, the 100g size bottles of Shower Gels - as this was the best place to put them to remember to use them - I have a tendency of grabbing the bigger bottles to use.

In order to keep track of what products I am using up in order to write about them in my monthly Lush empties, I also keep what pots/bottles I use up in the same bath tub storage! This storage box is quite big - which is good for the price! I also keep the pots, in order to collect five - to claim a free fresh face mask!

Next to the bath tub storage box, I have a jar - which is the same jar I use to keep my Bath Oils in - however, they are now stored on another shelf in a martini glass wrapped up in cling film. This jar now houses, a broken Sunflower Bubble Bar - which makes it easier to crumble it up when using in the bath.

First Shelf

This shelf now houses my everyday Lush products and my Lush Kitchen. I still use Cling Film in order to wrap up and keep my Lush Everyday Products fresh and with the Lush Kitchen products - I keep them in the packaging they come in.

Also on this shelf, is all my haircare products - this is my shampoos and conditioners in order to grab them easily when in the bath. I have a 1kg Bottle of Daddy-O Shampoo - which fits perfectly on this shelf and it easy to get out and put back in.

Second Shelf

On this shelf I have all my Shower Gels. They are now organised by expiry date. Organising them by date allows me to use up Shower Gels that I brought a long time ago and they do not get forgotten about, especially with my favourite Shower Gels - I would hate for them to go out of date before I have the chance to use them.

Also on this shelf are all my Shower Jellies - which live behind the Shower Gels - stacked on top of each other. This shelf is really accessible when in the tub - making them easier to grab. I am trying my hardest to grab for my Shower Jellies - as I always go for the Shower Gels - because they are easier - but I do like the smells of the Shower Jellies I own and I am trying to use them! Hopefully use them more now the weather is changing.

The last thing living on this shelf, in jars - I keep my Showders. They use to be in there original packaging - but it was getting harder to use them in the bath. Now they are in jar, there is less likely to get damp and have their packaging ruined. I am also hoping that I remember to use them now, they are in jars - I find them excellent for exfoliating, especially as they are not too harsh.

Third Shelf

Lastly, this shelf houses all the Lush Collection products. At the moment there is Christmas/Halloween Products, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Easter products - and of course their is more that one of my favourite products.

These products are all individually wrapped in cling film - which I find to be the best way to keep the product fresh. I also do not have a problem with storing them all together - I do not find that the scents mix and it is the best way for me to store them - especially when this is placed in a shared bathroom.

I hope that helps, this system works for me, due to having living with my parents and we have one shared bathroom. I am always changing it up, depending on what I have in the collection - and of course if I end up buying more!

If anyone has any suggestions or if you want to share how you store your Lush - then please leave me a comment either on this post or on my instagram post of the picture in this blog post - @beckyscahill.

Thanks for reading!

Lush Mother's Day 2016: Roller Bath Bomb

Now, this Lush Oxford Street Exclusive caused everyone to go mad when they announced they were launching it for the UK Mother's Day Celebration. As I have mentioned in a previous blog post, there seem to have been a theme with Lush this year to do with their Mother's Day products - which was based around the Yummy Mummy Scent. When Lush has a malfunction with the tool in order to make these - it was a melt down with the Lush Oxford Street Twitter page with asking when it would return. It has also had it round in the Lush Kitchen - and I think it sold out super quick! This is The Roller Bath Bomb

Roller Bath Bomb

When I saw this product pop up on the Lush Oxford Street Instagram page, I was in two minds about whether or not to get this product - due to it sharing the scent with the Yummy Mummy collection and having a few product already with that scent. It was not until I went to the Lush Oxford Street Store to stock up on other exclusives and collections that I saw it in person and had to have a few!

I'm going to say now, if you have one or a few of these - aren't they amazing. This bath bomb trumps basically all the normal everyday bath bomb - including my beloved Avobath! Not only does it fizz away - revelling more colouring in the bath tub as it swirls around the bathtub - the top of the bath bomb is a bath melt - filled with buttery goodness, which leaves you skin feeling moisturised as well as soothed and soft.

This bath bomb can stand alone, but you could also use one of the Yummy Mummy scented bubble bars - which would make it a really comforting, luxury bath time experience. Last year, when the Yummy Mummy scent came out, I was not a fan out it and stayed away from it. However, when Lush released the Peeping Santa Bubble Bar as part of their Lush Winter 2015, I began and warm to in and it's now one of my favourites. I love the strawberry scent - which makes this bath bomb really fruity - but not sick fruity, refreshing and comforting fruity perfect to celebrate Mother's Day

This product contains: Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Geranium Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil and Tonka Absolute.

It is really interesting to combine a bath bomb and bath melt, especially if you are the sort of person who would not necessarily mix products together and want a product to do more than one thing - which also makes it a value of your money type of product. I really hope there will be more products like this bath bomb to appear in stores in the near future as it is a really interesting concept!

I am so pleased I decided to pick up a few, and changed my mind thinking I had enough Yummy Mummy Scented products!

For this bath bomb: £3.95.

Lush Kitchen: The Boog Bath Bomb

Sometimes there is a product that comes out in the Kitchen that leave you feeling confused and slightly wondering why they decided to bring that out. However, you end up buying it because of curiosity. When The Boog Bath Bomb appeared in the kitchen just before Christmas - I ended up buying a few just to see what they hell they were all about.

The Boog Bath Bomb

According to sources, The Boog is a Swiss Tradition, that celebrates the end of winter. It takes on the form of a snowman. It's head is stuffed with fireworks, placed onto a bonfire and is watched until it explores. From this tradition, the longer it takes for the head to explore - the better the summer will be the following year.

When this appeared on the list for the Kitchen, I assumed that it would be linked with the story of "The Snowman" which is shown in the UK during the Christmas Month of December, due to it's snowman's face and a hat. When this arrived in the post, I was even more intrigued not because of it's plain presentation but of it's aroma. I have to admit, there is nothing comforting or warm about this scent - it is fresher, more earthy and smells of the weather we have during the cold winter months. If you are a fan of scents like Grass Shower Gel, Tramp and Supertramp - then you would like this bath bomb.

When this bath bomb hits the water - the plain appearance fizzes away you are left with a series of different colours bursting out - just like the fireworks coming out of the Boog's head on the bonfire. When this starts, the scent becomes much stronger as the colours swirl around the bath tub. For someone who does not usually go for really earthy scents - I really enjoy this bath bomb - especially pairing it with the Supertramp Bubble Bar and using the Grass Shower Gel.

This bath bomb contains: Armoire Oil, Myrrh Resinoid, Rosemary Oil, Clary Saga Oil and Gardenia Extract. From the list, you can understand the grassy/earthy scent that this bath bomb offers, which can also be describe as a very cleansing fragrance, which leads me to think - if you did not want to use this bath bomb in your bath, you could use it to soak you feet then using Volcano Foot Mask alongside it.

There is a downfall with this bath bomb. If you have used the Experimenter Bath Bomb, you will understand were I am going with this. Although the colours are pretty initially when they are swirling around your bathtub - once it has fizzes away and you get into the tub, the water turns to that murky, dirty grey colour - which can lead you to think - was I really that dirty? I do understand that products like this are a novelty and therefore the spectacle of colours bursting out of the bath bomb - when it hits water, is enough for you to buy the bath bomb again and again.

If this product appeared in the Kitchen again - I would definitely think about picking up another one or two - because sometimes it is the bath time experience that you need. I do enjoy when Lush bring out products that are linked with other traditions and celebrations - makes you want to learn and understand what else goes on in the world.

For this bath bomb: £3.50.

Lush Spring 2016: Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar

Like any Lushie I have my favourites and not all my favourites are regular everyday Lush Products. I have favourites from all the collections that Lush bring out throughout the year. During the two years I have been a Lushie, that Favourites List has been growing and with the addition of Lush Exclusive - which are available at Lush Oxford Street - I think my Favourites List - is about to become a BOOK! One product from the Lush Spring collection - which has been brought out for Easter - is a bubble bar called Down the Rabbit Hole!

Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar

Firstly, I am going to concentrate on the design of this bubble bar! I think this is one of the top designs for a bubble bar that Lush has come out with for a collection. It almost looks like something you could pick up and eat. When this is crumbled under running water - the colours swirl together and create what I can only describe as is Spring in a bath!

Now let's get onto the scent. Oh me oh my, this bubble bar is a scentsation especially if you are a fan of sweet scents. When I say sweet, this is not as sickly sweet as Snow Fairy, it is more of a comforting, fresh sweet smell that could remind you of your childhood - when you are thinking of what sweets to buy.

This product contains: Cream of Tartar, Brazilian Orange Oil and Limonene. To be honest, there isn't a scent that sticks out, or that you can immediately smell, I personally think it smells like sweets from your childhood - a bit like Refresher Sticks or Drumstick Lollies. Perfect - seeing as Easter is all about eating sweets and chocolates -right?

Another bonus feature about this bubble bar is the size. This is a similar size to the Brightside or Comforter Bubble Bar - which means you can get more than one bath out of it - which I would recommend. When I first used this bubble bar - I only used half of it and it gave me so many sweet comforting bubbles - which last for the entire of your bath tub experience as well as the scent lasting the whole time.

I am so pleased I have picked up a couple of these. If you are near Lush Oxford Street or if they appear in the Lush Kitchen - then I would recommend buying a few - I am please I've stocked up - I sort of wish they were a year round product!

For this bubble bar: £3.95

Lush Spring 2016: Tweet Bubble Bar

Since the opening of Lush Oxford Street, they have also introduced products that end up being exclusive to the store and then eventually be featured in the Lush Kitchen and sometimes in specific gift sets. As I am lucky enough to get the chance to be able to visit the Lush Oxford Street Store, so I am able to pick up the Lush Exclusives. Lush have recently launched their Spring Collection for this year - which includes product based around Easter. One exclusive product, that I got my hands on and so pleased I have more than one is the Tweet Bubble Bar

Tweet Bubble Bar

Now, if you know of Looney Tunes, which use to be a children's cartoon show, I was a massive fan of. One of the characters was a little bird, called Tweety Pie, which I believe this bubble bar is based on.

Of course, this bubble bar can look terrifying - but I will reassure you it is an amazing bubble bar. As I am unclear of what this bubble bar actually contains, in my opinion is smells like pure orange juice, which is a really nice fresh scent, great for a pick me up, freshen up and again those mornings that might be a struggle to get yourself going. I think it is a really good bubble bar to use, now we are coming into Spring - and those mornings are less dark and more blue skies and sunshine.

I love anything with strong citrus scents, especially anything that smells like oranges or lemons. Tweet Bubble Bar for me, has everything that flows my boat when it comes to the smell of it. When you use it in the bathtub, it creates amazing orange scented bubbles, and loads of them. I feel like, when I used this bubble bar, that I am pouring freshly squeezed orange juice straight into the bath and it makes a gorgeous bubble bath.

It does not, in my opinion, share a scent with anything else that Lush has to offer, but has similar traits to Brightside Bubble Bar and another Lush Oxford Street Exclusive - Sunflower Bubble Bar - if you have be lucky to try it! Good for those who love the sharp, zesty scents that Lush offers.

This product has been brought out for Easter and hopefully might make an appearance in the Lush Kitchen. If you can get to Lush Oxford Street, I was definitely recommend you picking up a few of these - believe me you could not walk away with just one!

For this bubble bar: £3.45

Lush Kitchen: Happy Bubble Bar

I always find that the Lush Kitchen can be a either fantastic, and you can get your hands on so many limited edition products and other times it can be a massive fail - with repeats on products and also products that you wonder - why the hell did Lush invent this? This product was a massive hit for me.

Happy Bubble Bar

I am restraining myself from making a certain song reference which is perfect to describe this bubble bar. However, I am really HAPPY with this bubble bar. I definitely a good pick me up when you are a bit down, or had a long day at work - especially as it's a refreshing product which can make any day better.

I love products which had a really nice refreshing feel to them. I am a huge fan of citrus scented products and love the squeezy clean feeling that those particular leave when I am finished in the bath. Happy Bubble Bar is right up my street. This it is more of a fresh scented product, with the scent lasting the entire time you are in the bath.

This product contains: Tangerine Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Neroil Oil and Orange Blossom Oil. When these are combined, the scent is really refreshing and clean.

Overall, I am really impressed with this bubble bar - and pleased that I still have a couple left in my collection in order to enjoy on days when you need a Happy pick me up. The colour, is also interesting, and when crumbled under water it leaves you with a lovely light blue coloured bath water with loads of soft comforting refreshing bubbles.

Lush Empties: February

Another month has passed, and therefore another month of Lush Empties. There has been some new addition used up this month and some of them I will be looking to replace as soon as possible. Another good factor of using up these products - I have five pots ready to claim my free fresh face mask!

Lush Empties February

Face Masks

This past month, I have used up three Rosey Cheeks Fresh Face Masks, as I mentioned in my last Lush Empties it is truly one of my favourite face masks and it is the face mask I claim for free when I take back my five empty pots. Another favourite face mask, which I have used up is Mask of Magnaminty - perfect for breakouts of when your skin needs a refresh! I use this in-between using Rosey Cheeks. The last face mask, was not used up by me - but by my Mum, she has been trying out a few bits and pieces from Lush including The Sacred Truth Fresh Face Mask - using it as a facial wash rather than letting it dry.

Shower Gels/Jellies

I have to admit that I did not use up this shower jelly, but rather threw it away. That product is Pot O Gold Shower Jelly. If you have read my blog post on Three Gold Rings Bubble Bar, they share the same scent and as you can gather from that post, it is not my favourite smell. Pot O Gold came out Spring time in 2015 but I have to admit I am so pleased it has not made an appearance this year. However, I threw it away and cleaned out the pot and now Lush can have it back!

These are my Lush Empties for the Month of February, I will be interested to see what I use up for the Month of March.

Love, Becky x
