Lush Kitchen: The Boog Bath Bomb

Sometimes there is a product that comes out in the Kitchen that leave you feeling confused and slightly wondering why they decided to bring that out. However, you end up buying it because of curiosity. When The Boog Bath Bomb appeared in the kitchen just before Christmas - I ended up buying a few just to see what they hell they were all about.

The Boog Bath Bomb

According to sources, The Boog is a Swiss Tradition, that celebrates the end of winter. It takes on the form of a snowman. It's head is stuffed with fireworks, placed onto a bonfire and is watched until it explores. From this tradition, the longer it takes for the head to explore - the better the summer will be the following year.

When this appeared on the list for the Kitchen, I assumed that it would be linked with the story of "The Snowman" which is shown in the UK during the Christmas Month of December, due to it's snowman's face and a hat. When this arrived in the post, I was even more intrigued not because of it's plain presentation but of it's aroma. I have to admit, there is nothing comforting or warm about this scent - it is fresher, more earthy and smells of the weather we have during the cold winter months. If you are a fan of scents like Grass Shower Gel, Tramp and Supertramp - then you would like this bath bomb.

When this bath bomb hits the water - the plain appearance fizzes away you are left with a series of different colours bursting out - just like the fireworks coming out of the Boog's head on the bonfire. When this starts, the scent becomes much stronger as the colours swirl around the bath tub. For someone who does not usually go for really earthy scents - I really enjoy this bath bomb - especially pairing it with the Supertramp Bubble Bar and using the Grass Shower Gel.

This bath bomb contains: Armoire Oil, Myrrh Resinoid, Rosemary Oil, Clary Saga Oil and Gardenia Extract. From the list, you can understand the grassy/earthy scent that this bath bomb offers, which can also be describe as a very cleansing fragrance, which leads me to think - if you did not want to use this bath bomb in your bath, you could use it to soak you feet then using Volcano Foot Mask alongside it.

There is a downfall with this bath bomb. If you have used the Experimenter Bath Bomb, you will understand were I am going with this. Although the colours are pretty initially when they are swirling around your bathtub - once it has fizzes away and you get into the tub, the water turns to that murky, dirty grey colour - which can lead you to think - was I really that dirty? I do understand that products like this are a novelty and therefore the spectacle of colours bursting out of the bath bomb - when it hits water, is enough for you to buy the bath bomb again and again.

If this product appeared in the Kitchen again - I would definitely think about picking up another one or two - because sometimes it is the bath time experience that you need. I do enjoy when Lush bring out products that are linked with other traditions and celebrations - makes you want to learn and understand what else goes on in the world.

For this bath bomb: £3.50.

Love, Becky x
