Blogmas Day Four: National Theatre Christmas Celebration

Blogmas Day Four: National Theatre Christmas Celebration.

Yesterday, I had the honour of being my Uncle's plus one to the National Theatre Christmas Celebration. Every year, they like to thank the priority members for their contribution to the National Theatre. It's because of the Priority Member that the National Theatre is able to stage numerous productions every single year.

It was a lovely little celebration, lasting about an hour. There was music, which happened to be the score of Follies - which is currently playing at the National Theatre at the Olivier. There was also the original model set for Follies, which fascinated me, as I did Theatre Design as an A Level and worked on several set model boxes. There was also costumes from the show, it was great to get up close and personal with the amount of detail that has gone into making them incredible.

There was drinks and mince pies and the chance to talk to people who work at the National Theatre as part of the events team and the priority members club. It took place in the Olivier Theatre rehearsal room, which again was a privilege to be able to stage in there and be in the room where several stars have rehearsed different productions that have been staged at the National Theatre.

I love the theatre and I love anything to do with being able to get up close and personal with more of what goes on behind the stage.

Until next time,
